Kos sits at the heart of the Dodecanese, with more islands within a day's sail than almost anywhere in Greece. Almost the whole fleet is based at Kos Marina, a short walk from Kos town. Compare every sailboat and catamaran in Kos below, bareboat or with a skipper.

Why charter in Kos?

From Kos Marina, Pserimos and Kalymnos are a short hop, Nisyros and its volcano lie to the south, and Leros and Patmos to the north. Short distances leave time for swimming stops and long evenings ashore.

Kos airport has direct flights from much of Europe in summer and is about 30 minutes from the marina by car.

A week from Kos

A classic week runs Kos – Pserimos – Kalymnos – Leros – Lipsi, or south to Nisyros and Tilos. With two weeks you can continue to Patmos or south to Rhodes.

The Turkish coast around Bodrum is close, but crossing into Turkish waters needs customs formalities and your charter company's permission.

Wind and season

In July and August the meltemi blows through the Dodecanese, often strongest in the afternoons and in the channels between islands. May, June and September are the calmer months.

Bareboat or with a skipper

For a bareboat charter in Greece, the skipper needs a recognised licence such as the ICC, and a second crew member needs sailing experience. Most Kos boats are chartered bareboat, by the week, Saturday to Saturday. See all yacht charters in Greece.
