Renting a boat in Saint-Tropez: a week from the harbour
Saint-Tropez was a fishing village and military stronghold until the early 20th century. The Gulf of Saint-Tropez, beside the town, is a narrow stretch of water reaching north to Sainte-Maxime under the Massif des Maures. A 12 m sailing yacht is listed in the harbour of Saint-Tropez, chartered by the week.
The harbour office answers on VHF channel 9. Its high season runs from 1 May until the Voiles de Saint-Tropez regatta in late September, and visiting boats request their berths online, so book any extra nights in port early.
Rounding Cap Saint-Tropez, you can sail south to Cap Camarat and come back into the bay of Pampelonne, about 9 nm in all. The bay is a managed mooring area, and anchoring on posidonia seagrass is banned for every boat. From there, a week along the Riviera to Cannes continues east past the red cliffs of the Estérel.
