Charter a yacht in Greece with a professional crew on board, and nobody in your group needs a license or any sailing experience. This page lists every Greek boat offered with a crew: crewed motor yachts, sailing yachts and traditional wooden gulets, and above all crewed catamarans, which make up most of the fleet. Compare them below, with the price and availability for your week.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a license for a crewed yacht charter in Greece?
Is every boat on this page a motor yacht?
What is APA on a crewed charter?
When is the best time for a crewed yacht charter in Greece?
Crewed motor yachts, catamarans and gulets
A crewed motor yacht is the fastest way to see Greece from the water: you cover more islands in a week and still have time to swim, eat ashore and relax on deck. You'll find crewed motor yachts on this page, but most of Greece's crewed fleet is catamarans, which offer wide decks, several cabins and a stable ride at anchor.
The page also lists sailing yachts with a crew, for those who want to feel the boat heel under sail, and traditional wooden gulets, with large shaded decks built for groups. Each listing shows the boat type, the cabins and the crew.
What a crew includes
Every crewed charter comes with a professional captain (skipper) who handles navigation, anchoring and mooring and knows the best bays for the day's wind. On many boats a host or chef joins the crew, cooks on board and keeps the boat tidy; larger yachts may carry more crew.
Because the captain is in charge of the boat, no one in your group needs a sailing license. If you'd rather sail the boat yourself, see bareboat charter in Greece.
Food, fuel and what's included
On many crewed charters, food, drinks, fuel and harbor fees are paid on top of the charter fee. They're often covered by an advance provisioning allowance (APA): a sum paid before the trip that the captain spends on your behalf and accounts for at the end of the week, with any unused balance returned. Other boats include some of these costs, so check each listing for what's included.
Where to go on a crewed yacht charter in Greece
Saronic Gulf: from Athens, Aegina, Poros and Hydra are an easy first week, close to the airport. Cyclades: Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and Santorini are the classic island-hopping route; when the meltemi wind blows in July and August, your captain picks the sheltered side of each island. Ionian: around Lefkada and Corfu, the water is calm and green and the distances are short.

When to go and how booking works
The season runs from April to October. May, June and September bring warm water and quieter anchorages; July and August are the busiest weeks. Most crewed yachts are chartered by the week, often Saturday to Saturday, and each listing shows the price and availability for your dates before you book and pay securely online.
